Exciting New Play Equipment Boosts Physical and Social Development for Pupils
Newton Bridge East Site has unveiled an impressive new play tower, along with an accessible roundabout and two new swings. Thanks to some match funding from The Bernard Sunley Foundation, pupils now have access to fresh, inclusive and engaging outdoor apparatus that supports social interaction, physical development, and fun for everyone.
The new equipment offers children a wealth of benefits. The play tower, with wider walkways, encourages active, imaginative play while helping pupils build strength, coordination and confidence as they climb, balance and explore. The accessible roundabout ensures that children of all abilities can join in the excitement together, promoting inclusion and shared experiences. Meanwhile, the new swings provide a calming yet stimulating activity that supports sensory regulation and helps children develop core stability and spatial awareness.
Together, this enhanced play provision creates a vibrant outdoor space where pupils can develop friendships, build resilience, and enjoy the physical and emotional benefits of active play – making breaktimes more meaningful, inclusive and enjoyable for all.
