Welcome from our Headteacher
Daley Barber-Allen

On behalf of the pupils, staff and governors, and the Community Inclusive Trust (CIT), I would like to welcome you to Newton Bridge Academy.

As part of a family of schools within CIT, Newton Bridge Academy can draw upon the expertise across the Trust and central team to provide the highest levels of education and care for our pupils.

Newton Bridge Academy is a specialist all-needs school in Grantham, Lincolnshire, for children and young people aged 4–19 with a wide range of abilities and needs. Every pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and we are proud to provide an inclusive and supportive environment where each learner can thrive.

As Headteacher, I feel privileged to lead such a fantastic, friendly, and welcoming school. Across our two sites – Newton East and Newton West – you’ll find a warm, positive atmosphere and a dedicated team of staff who go above and beyond to provide the very best education and care for our pupils.

At Newton Bridge Academy, we aim to be:
– A safe, inspiring place where pupils learn, achieve, and grow.
– A supportive workplace where staff are encouraged and developed.
– A welcoming community where parents, carers, and families feel included and valued.

We are proud to be part of the Community Inclusive Trust (CIT) family of schools, working closely with our partners and benefiting from the expertise and support that helps us continually improve.

Our ethos centres on the belief that every child is a ‘unique learner’ and that learning has no limits. Success looks different for every pupil, and we celebrate every step of progress.

Parents and carers are key partners in this journey. We keep in close contact through ClassDojo, as well as by phone, email, or face-to-face meetings whenever needed. Strong communication helps us work together to support each child in the best possible way.

UNIFORM UPDATE

Dear Parents and Carers

Unfortunately, the branded uniform items that school ordered prior to the summer have not yet arrived. This affects those parents of existing pupils who took advantage of our offer to purchase items in preparation for our switch from GANF to Newton Bridge Academy when school reopens.

Please don’t worry! Our uniform policy is inclusive and relaxed because we know that some of our pupils have sensory, physical or other needs which may make wearing certain fabrics and clothing difficult.

If you have privately ordered branded items and they have already arrived, your child is welcome to wear them from the first day back (Thursday 4th September). It will be lovely to see them rocking our new look! 😎 👕

PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD IN WEARING GANF UNIFORM, as this may be confusing for some pupils now that we are called Newton Bridge Academy.

If your child doesn’t yet have branded items, plain clothing is absolutely fine:

- Tops - plain T-shirts or polo shirts (black preferred, but don’t worry if not) Jumpers / sweaters – black preferred, but plain alternatives are fine until branded stock arrives

– Bottoms - plain trousers, cargo trousers, or joggers (black or grey). Black leggings are also fine with a longer T-shirt covering the hip area if this is what your child prefers

- Footwear – black or brown shoes, preferably black trainers, though white trainers are fine if your child does not have black.

- Please avoid jeans or hoodies.

Staff uniform has also not arrived, so staff will be dressed smart-casual in line with pupils.

PLEASE DO NOT WORRY. The most important thing is that pupils feel comfortable, confident and ready for a fun first week as Newton Bridge Academy pupils 😀🙌🏻😀
