Newton Bridge Academy is feeling excited.

๐ŸŽ‰ (Almost) BACK TO SCHOOL! ๐ŸŽ‰

The countdown is officially onโ€ฆ and itโ€™s almost time for a new school year!

I hope youโ€™ve had a brilliant summer holiday; whether itโ€™s felt like a wonderfully long break or disappeared in the blink of an eye, I hope you have had lots of fun, enjoyed time with family and friends, and made some lovely memories along the way โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

Both of our school sites have been a hive of activity over the summer holidays! Weโ€™ve been busy making sure our pupils and staff return to an environment they can feel proud ofโ€ฆ and we honestly cannot wait for you to see everything thatโ€™s been happening! ๐Ÿ‘€

Thereโ€™s been painting, extra cleaning, re-carpeting, organising and lots of behind-the-scenes hard work to get everything looking fresh, smart and ready for the new school year.

We have also been preparing to welcome lots of new pupils and some new staff next week, and we are SO excited to meet everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ“š But what actually happens on a staff training day?

Our staff have two jam-packed training days on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd September, getting everyone ready for the year ahead.

We will be focusing on some really important areas, includingโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Safeguarding and Child Protection
๐Ÿ’š Positive behaviour support
๐Ÿค Moving and handling
๐Ÿ“– Phonics and reading
๐Ÿฅœ Allergy and asthma awareness training in response to new national legislation

โ€ฆin addition to getting classrooms and shared spaces ready for the many exciting learning experiences ahead.

๐ŸŽ’ BUT THENโ€ฆ ITโ€™S BACK TO SCHOOL!

We cannot WAIT to welcome all of our fantastic pupils back on Thursday 3rd September! ๐ŸŽ‰

New faces, familiar faces, fresh classrooms, lots of excitement and a whole new school year ahead! ๐ŸŒŸ

Until then, enjoy the rest of the (very wet!) Bank Holiday weekend and make the most of those last few days of summer.

I shall look forward to seeing you all next week.

Take care and look after each other.

Headteacher
