🌟 Happy Half Term from Newton Bridge Academy! 🌟
As we wrap up our very first half term of the new school year, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to our incredible parents, staff and amazing pupils for making it such a special start.
It has been a busy but lovely first chapter as Newton Bridge Academy… a chapter full of exciting learning opportunities, some fantastic teaching, and a growing family of talented staff. I am especially proud of how well our new pupils and staff have settled in, bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to our school community.
A huge thank you to the parents and carers who joined us for coffee catch-ups and Harvest Festival assemblies… your support means the world and we look forward to welcoming more members of our community into school for similar activities and events as we approach Christmas (oops, I said it!). We have some lovely things planned for us all to enjoy together.
I am especially grateful to the staff and parents who are continuing the wonderful legacy of our much-missed colleague and friend, Katie Bennington, by building on the great work of FOSA through the newly formed Friends of Newton Bridge Academy (FONBA). Your dedication to fundraising and supporting our pupils is deeply appreciated and truly inspiring.
I also greatly appreciate the ongoing support from Community Inclusive Trust and our dedicated governors, who have been instrumental in helping us drive improvement and thrive as a school.
There are too many ‘wow moments’ from the past half term to mention, but I am particularly proud of our pupils’ achievements in reading, their general enthusiasm for learning and the way many of them have represented our school so brilliantly when out and about in the local community. I would like to give a special shout-out to our School Council though, who have been instrumental in driving improvements in our awards and rewards system… your leadership is inspiring!
I am stepping into the half term break feeling immensely proud to lead such a wonderful, diverse and brilliant community of very special people and supporters.
Wishing everyone a restful and joyful half term break. I cannot wait to see what the next half brings (after a little rest and some quality family time, of course!).
*A little reminder that Monday 3rd November is a staff training day, so we shall look forward to pupils returning to school on Tuesday 4th November.
With my sincere thanks and appreciation.
