Our Engagers Pathway offers bespoke provision for learners who have profound and multiple learning difficulties. These learners may also have complex sensory and health needs requiring support from external professionals.
Our aim is to support children and young people in this pathway to develop engagement with their surroundings and with the people in their lives so that they can be happy, healthy and safe. The aim is for adults familiar to the young person to develop the skills to interpret pupil’s responses to enable effective communication.
Our Engagers provision is personalised for each pupil and is based on individual needs linked to the areas of need from their EHCP and recommendations from external professionals. This personalised approach to curriculum recognises the unique developmental profiles of our learners.
The Engagers provision is holistic and sensory- focused with an emphasis on therapies.
Pupils in this pathway work on engagement with others and their environment. For this reason, their provision reflects their individual interests building on their responses. Engagers are assessed using the Engagement Model, these assessments inform the provision.
